Direct Admission in MBBS through NRI & Management Quota Seats

Direct Admission in MBBS

It is very difficult to secure a seat in government medical colleges.

The MBBS course fee is very less in government colleges compared to private colleges & universities.

Therefore the level of competition for MBBS admission in government colleges is very high.

Also, seats are reserved under various categories such as:

1) SC/ST & OBC category students.

2) Economically weaker section for general category students

3) Seats reserved for state domicile students.

Either you have to score good marks in the NEET UG exam or You must be capable of paying the higher tuition fee.

The Minimum cost for MBBS management quota seats is around 60 – 90 lakhs for the full course.

Even with the low NEET rank, You can study MBBS through NRI & Management quota seats.

Deemed & Private Medical Colleges in India for MBBS Direct Admission

Such seats are only available in private & deemed colleges.

Since you are paying a higher tuition fee, many private & deemed medical colleges will give you a seat.

MBBS Admission through Management Quota

To get direct admission in MBBS you must have to follow the below process:

Step #1 Apply for the NEET UG Entrance exam.

NEET exam is compulsory even for MBBS admission through NRI or management quota.

You must register for the NEET UG exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA)

Also NRI, PIO, OCI & Foreign national students have to participate in the NEET exam.

Step #2 Qualify the NEET UG entrance exam.

By just applying for the NEET exam, You won’t be eligible for direct admission in MBBS.

You also have to pass the exam by scoring more than 50% of the cut-off score.

As per the last 3 years’ data, the NEET Cut-off score is between 115 – 135 out of 720 marks.

Therefore you must score more than the expected cut-off score.

To be eligible for MBBS admission through NRI or Management quota seats.

Step #3 Register for the counseling.

Counseling is mandatory for the allotment of MBBS seats in India.

You must have to register for the counseling even for NRI or Management seats.

The medical counseling committee (MCC) conducts counseling for Deemed medical colleges.

State medical counseling authorities conduct counseling for Private medical colleges of their respective states.

Step #4 College Choice filling.

Counseling is done for allotment of seats as per the NEET All India Rank.

You have to fill the college choices and the respective authorities will allot the seats.

The seat allotted is based on the outcome of choices filled and NEET UG rank.

Therefore you must be very careful while choosing the college options.

You must choose NRI or Management seat options if your NEET rank is low.

Step #5 Downloading the allotment letter.

Counseling results are announced after the college choice filling is over.

If you have given the options as per your rank, you might get a seat.

You can download the provisional allotment letter provided by the counseling authorities.

Step #6 Reporting to the allotted medical college.

You must have to report to the respective medical colleges where you have been allotted a seat.

At the time of reporting, you must have to pay the college fee and submit the essential documents to confirm your seat.

10-15 days is provided by the counseling authorities to report to the respective colleges.

If you fail to report to the colleges, your allotted seat will be canceled.

Management Quota in NEET

NRI & management quota MBBS seats can be joined through NEET rank based counseling.

3 rounds of counseling are conducted for NRI & Management seats allotment on the basis of NEET rank.

✅ Round-1 Seat allotment
✅ Round-2 seat allotment
✅ Mop Up Round

Even if you don’t get a seat in the 1st round, you can change the college options in the subsequent rounds.

Also, you can upgrade your seat allotted by following the seat up-gradation process.

The previously allotted seat will be canceled if you get an upgraded seat in the 2nd round or mop-up round.

You are allowed to upgrade to a better college, even if you accept the seat allotted in the 1st round.

Deemed Medical Colleges MBBS NRI & Management Quota Fee

MBBS Management Quota Seats

You can join MBBS through Management quota seats during the stray vacancy counseling.

Even after conducting 3 rounds of counseling, there is a high possibility that seats remain unfilled in private & deemed universities.

Especially the NRI & Management quota seats because of the high tuition fee.

Stray vacancy counseling is conducted by respective colleges where the seats are vacant.

Medical Colleges are allowed to fill all the vacant NRI & Management seats on their own.

The list of students who have registered for the counseling is provided to the colleges by the counseling authorities.

Stray vacancy counseling is for students who have not been allotted any seat during the 3 rounds of counseling.

You can approach the colleges for NRI & Management quota seats.

Also, there might be slight relaxation in the tuition fee to fill all the vacant seats.

Private Medical Colleges in India without Donation

Most of the private medical colleges offer MBBS seats in a low budget package.

Low budget MBBS seats in the self-financing medical colleges are available under categories such:

✅ Govt. quota seats for state domicile students.
✅ Private quota seats for all students.
✅ Management quota seats.

Seats in self-financing Private medical colleges are offered at a very low budget package.

Only NRI seats in private medical colleges have higher tuition fees.

But there are some exceptions too.

Such as MBBS management quota seats in Karnataka Private medical colleges are 30 – 40 Lakh per annum.

However private quota seats in Karnataka Medical colleges have 8 – 9 Lakh per annum fee.

You have to register for state quota seats counseling for admission in private medical colleges.

The counseling authorities will prepare the state rank list.

The state rank list is used for seat allotment in private medical colleges of their respective states.

The state merit list is based on the All India rank of NEET-UG.

You must apply separately for the state quota counseling on the basis of NEET rank.

You must have a good NEET rank to get an MBBS seat in private colleges at a low budget package.

But still, the competition is lower compared to government medical colleges because:

1) Many states only allow state domicile students to apply for private seats.

2) Students from other states participating in state counseling are less.

3) Beneficial for students who want admission in their own state private medical colleges at a low budget.

4) The MBBS course fee is approximately 10 times higher than in government medical colleges.

MBBS Direct Admission in Government Colleges
